Principal's Weekly Update

Dear parent/carer

It's a pleasure to address you on this sunny Friday morning here at Uxbridge High School. I hope this message finds you well and that you're looking forward to a wonderful weekend.

Celebrating Successes

This week has been filled with fantastic achievements at our school. We were thrilled to welcome students and teachers from a Dutch school as part of a cultural exchange program. Our Year 10 ambassadors did a remarkable job showcasing our school and forging connections with their peers from the Netherlands. It was a great opportunity for both schools to learn and grow together.

Sports Day Excitement

Looking ahead, we are excited to reintroduce our highly anticipated Sports Day next Friday. This year's theme is the Paris Olympics, aligning perfectly with our school's gold standard ethos. Students can look forward to engaging track and field events at the Hillington Athletic Centre while those who prefer not to participate in sports will have the chance to engage in cross-curricular activities led by various departments.

We encourage all Key Stage 3 students to attend and ask that they make their own way to the Hillington Athletic Centre by 8:15 AM. If you would like your child to travel with a member of staff, please let us know in advance.

Important Reminders

  • Year 11 and 13 students are expected to attend school for exams.
  • Year 10 students will be participating in a career and exam preparation day.
  • Please monitor your child's social media use and ensure that their phones are switched off and stored in their bags during the school day.

Addressing Challenges

As always, I strive to be transparent with you about both our successes and challenges. Recently, we have faced some issues related to social media, including the sharing of inappropriate messages. We ask for your support in ensuring that your children use social media responsibly and that they understand the importance of adhering to school rules regarding phone usage.

Looking Forward

I want to express my gratitude to all the parents who have reached out with their questions and concerns. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we work together to provide our students the best possible learning environment.

Finally, I'd like to commend our Year 11 and 13 students for their dedication and hard work as they continue to excel in their exams. We are incredibly proud of their efforts.

Thank you for your continued support. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Louisa Seymour
