Target Mars
On Friday 12th October 2018, five Year 9 students participated in the ‘Target Mars’ event at Brunel University. This science trip enabled our students to develop an understanding of space sciences such as how to survive on mars and life on board the international space station. The day combined excitement of a mission to explore life on mars, and a combination of hands-on physics, chemistry, and biology activities to give the students a really unforgettable real-life experience.
Our students also engaged in collaborative teamwork and problem solving skills, whilst pitted against one another in a race to develop knowledge and skills to colonise mars. The visit has been a resounding success on all counts, and especially beneficial in bolstering students’ interest and enthusiasm for STEM careers.
Well done to all the students who took part in ‘Target Mars’!
