Weekly Update 13/10/2023
I hope this newsletter finds you well. I'd like to share some exciting news and important updates about our school, all of which I recently discussed in a video vlog. As always, we appreciate your continued support and engagement in our school community.
Celebrating Student Success: Golden Everyone Rewards Evening
Last week, we celebrated the success of our students in the previous academic year with our Golden Everyone Rewards Evening. This event recognized achievements in specialist subjects and honored students from each learning group. We believe that every student deserves recognition, not only at grand events like this but also through regular rewards they receive weekly. We hope that those who attended enjoyed the evening, and for those who couldn't make it, we encourage you to motivate your children to continue to excel and be proud of their accomplishments. We look forward to seeing even more students rewarded at our next annual event, which will take place at the same time next year.
Specialist Teachers for Every Subject
Ensuring that every young person receives the best education possible is a top priority for us. I'm pleased to inform you that we have specialist teachers in every subject area, committed to delivering high-quality education across the board. We hope your children return home excited about their lessons and appreciative of the hard work our dedicated teachers put into delivering outstanding lessons.
Mobile Phone Policy
You may have heard about the recent government announcement regarding the ban on mobile phones in schools. It's important to note that we have already implemented this policy back in 2015 through our "See It, Lose It" initiative. The ban is a crucial element of our commitment to ensuring student safety and focus. We appreciate your continued support in maintaining this policy, which requires students to keep their mobile phones switched off during the school day and stored in their school bags. It has proven to be effective, with students responding positively.
Detention System and High Expectations
We maintain high expectations for our students, and as part of this, we have a detention system. While we strive to minimize detentions, they are issued for a valid reason when necessary. We kindly request your support in reinforcing these expectations. Detentions often help students understand boundaries and motivate them to improve. If you have any concerns or queries about detentions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's Head of Learning or any staff member you find appropriate.
Upcoming OFSTED Report
As mentioned in my previous message, our recent OFSTED inspection report is expected to be published soon. We are eager to share the findings with you and hope you will be as proud of the results as we are. We will distribute the report as soon as it becomes available.
Thank you for your continued support. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing you again soon. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
