A visit to Parliament and the Supreme Court

We are thrilled to share with you the incredible experience our Year 12 politics class had during their recent trip to Parliament and the Supreme Court. Accompanied by Steve Tuckwell MP, the students were given an exclusive private tour, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage with their local representative. They had the chance to ask thought-provoking questions about our community, gaining valuable insights into the role of an MP.

During their visit to the historic House of Lords, our students delved into the rich history of Westminster Hall, immersing themselves in the traditions and significance of this iconic institution. Additionally, they were granted a private tour of the esteemed Supreme Court, where they had the privilege of exploring Court Room 1. Through this immersive experience, they gained a deep understanding of the court's constitutional functions and its crucial role in upholding justice.

One of the most exciting aspects of the trip was the opportunity for our students to participate in a simulated real-life case. This hands-on activity allowed them to step into the shoes of legal professionals, deepening their understanding of the legal system and its complexities.
