Principal's Weekly Update
Good morning everyone,
We hope this message finds you well and enjoying the budding signs of spring. Today, we're thrilled to bring you some exciting updates from Uxbridge High School, all delivered from the vibrant outdoors as we soak up the sunshine and the promise of warmer days ahead.
Year 9 Careers Day
Yesterday, we hosted a sensational careers event that had our students buzzing with enthusiasm. From the sleek Aston Martin that captured their imaginations to the insightful presentations by external speakers, including our esteemed alumni and partners from the Brentford Academy Trust, it was a day filled with inspiration and valuable insights into future pathways. If your Year 9 or 10 child hasn't already shared their experience with you, we encourage you to engage them in conversation. Understanding their aspirations and interests is crucial as we guide them towards fulfilling their potential. Thanks to Mr Heslin and Mr Hazard for their instrumental roles in orchestrating this successful event.
Congratulations, George Summerville!
We proudly announce that George Summerville has been elected as the representative for Hillington in the Youth Parliament, receiving over a thousand votes—a testament to his leadership and dedication. George's journey exemplifies the importance of active participation in democracy, and we look forward to seeing him advocate for the voices of our youth on a broader stage. Congratulations, George! We eagerly await the impact you will make.
Year 11 and Year 13 Final Exam Preparations
As our Year 11 and 13 students approach the culmination of their academic journeys, we're committed to supporting them every step of the way. With the recent completion of their PP3 mock assessments, our focus has shifted to providing targeted feedback and guidance to ensure they are well-equipped for success in the upcoming exams. Parents, your involvement in helping them devise effective revision plans, balanced with adequate rest, is invaluable. Together, let's empower our students to approach these challenges with confidence and determination.
As we eagerly anticipate the results of their hard work, we urge our students to remember that success is not solely measured by outcomes but by the effort and dedication they invest. We are immensely proud of every one of them.
Closing Words
As we bid farewell to another week and eagerly anticipate the joys of the weekend, we extend our warmest wishes to you all. May the sunshine of spring bring renewed energy and optimism to your days. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we navigate the final stretch of this term together.
Until next time, stay safe, inspired and embrace the beauty of each day.
Warm regards.
